New to quarter midgets

Help getting started.

Getting a driver on track is mostly a gear question, and the safety list is where most new families stall. We've done it, we've helped others do it, and we'll help you — with the setup work and with the simple jobs.

01 / The videos

The safety series.

Made with Lone Star Quarter Midgets, for rookie families and anyone still deciding. Short episodes, one piece of gear at a time — what to buy, how it should fit, and why it matters.

Videos currently live on our Facebook page. They'll be hosted here natively once uploaded.

02 / We help

Four families in the shop. Many more at the track.

Families come to us who aren't on our team — four cars through the shop this season, and a good deal more trackside. They've given us permission to show the work, without their names.

A seat, poured

Fitting a driver properly

A seat that doesn't fit is a safety problem before it's a comfort problem. We poured a seat for a driver from another family so the car would actually fit them.

All season

A car we kept running

One family's car has been in our shop all year — maintained, adjusted and race-ready, weekend after weekend.

The simple jobs

An oil change, taught properly

A lot of what stops a new family is the ordinary stuff nobody has ever shown them. An oil change at the back of the car is a fifteen-minute lesson — and then they can do it themselves.

Setup

Once you're racing, the car has opinions.

Tight on entry, loose off, won't turn in the middle — we wrote down what we've learned about fixing each one, grouped by what you can actually still adjust.

It isn't complete. We learn every race.
